The itch
Music sounds better when you can see it. For decades, MilkDrop and Winamp turned any song into a hypnotic light show — and then that magic got stranded on the desktop, right as living rooms moved to smart TVs and whole-home audio.
We already ran Music Assistant for synchronized audio in every room. We wanted the TV in each of those rooms to be part of the experience: not a black rectangle, but a screen alive with visuals moving to the exact song playing, in perfect time with the speakers.
So we built SpinViz. Point it at your Music Assistant server, and every TV becomes a synchronized player and a full-screen visualizer. No cloud, no accounts, no subscriptions — just your music and your screens.

The community-curated "Cream of the Crop" collection, rendered by the projectM engine — the same engine on every platform, so it looks identical everywhere.
Organized by vibe
Presets sorted into mood buckets — ambient, geometric, reaction, waveform and more — using AI vision classification, so you dial in a feeling instead of scrolling nine thousand files.
Intensity and speed, on a dial
Calm / Balanced / Energetic tunes how hard the visuals react to the beat; a separate speed control runs from meditative to frantic. Neither drops frames.
Favourites and auto-cycling
Flag the presets you love and shuffle just those, let it drift on its own, or lock the one you like and leave it.
The audio
SpinViz doesn't listen to a microphone or fake it with a random waveform. It is the speaker.
A native Music Assistant player
SpinViz appears as a speaker in your whole-home audio system. Send music to it like any other speaker; it plays in sync with the rest of the house.
Synchronized, hi-res playback
FLAC up to 96 kHz / 24-bit, plus Opus and PCM, over the SendSpin protocol with sub-second time sync.
Driven by the real decoded audio
The visuals react to the actual samples coming out of the decoder, beat for beat — not to a guess about the tempo.
A true 10-foot interface
Browse vibes, favourite presets and control playback from a D-pad remote. Auto-starts on boot, doubles as your TV's screensaver, and is tuned for budget smart TVs rather than flagship boxes.
Private by design
SpinViz collects no data. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no accounts. Everything runs on your devices and your Music Assistant server; your music never leaves your network.
